Kathy Eagen is the Public Affairs Counselor at the U.S. Embassy in Morocco. She has been a career diplomat with the Department of State since 2001. Her most recent assignment was as the Director of the New York Foreign Press Center focused on highlighting American economic strength and democratic values to more than 1200 foreign media workers resident in New York City. Her previous assignments included serving as the Public Affairs Counselor at the US Mission to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE). She also led the U.S. Mission negotiations on media freedom issues within the OSCE. Additional public affairs positions included working in Kabul, Afghanistan as the Deputy Public Affairs Officer for Programs and Personnel, where she was responsible for an annual budget of $110 million in grants and funding, as well as human resources and financial management for a team of over 50 persons. Kathy has also served as the Public Affairs Officer in Reykjavik, Iceland and Lahore, Pakistan.
