Ms Aicha Haddou is Director of the Morocco Interfaith & Peacebuilding Research and Training Centre affiliated to The Rabita Mohammedia of Ulemas.
She has managed the Women’s leadership for peacebuilding, countering terrorism and religious radicalisms project and research, as part of the Rabita, supported by the UK Government and UN-WOMEN (MENA Regional Office). She is member/ founder of the Regional Platform “Gender and the Prevention of Violent Extremism in North Africa”, UN-Women. She served as a consultant-moderator (May-July 2020) of the Global Digital Consultation ONU, United Nations Global Counter Terrorism Coordination Compact (Gender Working Group), chaired by UN Women, New York. She participated to the International Visitor Leadership Program: “Women Leaders Promoting Peace and Security”, USA. She is member/founder of the European Association of the European Women of Faith Network – Religions for Peace / Europe.
She was a member of the Higher Council for Education, Training and Scientific Research (Morocco) appointed by His Majesty King Mohammed VI (2014-2019).
She is also a researcher with a background in Religious Studies (Faculty of Theology, Louvain-la –Neuve Catholic University, Belgium). Coalition and Peacebuilding are her starting points and objectives, in whichever topic she teaches or debates: Religious Issues, Interfaith relations, Prevention of Violent Extremism, Women’s Religious and Interfaith Leadership, Theology of Diversity, Feminine Leadership for Peace and Security, Education for Peace, Rights and Religions.
